Cancellation of all Field Trials for the 2020/21 Season

It is with great regret that following long discussions by the East Midland Gundog Committee, the decision has been made to cancel all Field Trials planned for this season 2020/2021, in both Retriever and Spaniel.

The Coronavirus pandemic has caused disruption to everyone this year, and although the Kennel Club has issued guidance in the running of trials, the responsibility now falls to each individual club to assess the risks associated with the preparation and execution of each trial. It is our feeling as a club, the risk to all persons involved is too great, and we would hate for the worst to happen. We hope you understand this decision, it is for everyone's safety.

We, as a committee, fully understand your disappointment with this decision, and realise that you will have your own opinions on the matter. It was not an easy decision to make, but we feel it is the right one in the present uncertain times.Both our Retriever FT Secretary; Helen Swan and our Spaniel Secretary; Fiona Sims had arranged a number of trials, and confirmed venues and judges. We would like to thank them and all those who had planned to judge and help.

We are hoping that this virus can be controlled, and that we can all get back to some normality next year.
