Spaniel Working Tests Date for Summer 2021
East Midland Gundog Club are excited to finally be able to welcome handlers to enter a club event! Our Spaniel Working Tests will be held on 26th June 2021 and we are thrilled to share the details with you.
We will hold our A/V Novice and Open tests at Burghley Estate, near Easton-on-the-Hill, by kind permission of Mr M. Pope. You can download the schedule and entry form from our Spaniel Working Test page. We are very grateful to our judges who have volunteered their time and skills to enable to run the tests, Mr Geoff Devine-Jones and Mr Gary Veasey. For our Novice handlers, we will again be offering a special award for the most promising Novice Dog and Handler, which was last won by Kate Timmins and her Springer Bertie Brown Cap in 2019.
We are mindful that government guidelines are still in operation as a result of the pandemic. At this time, gatherings are subject to a maximum attendance of 30 people. We hope that by the closing date of Wednesday 16th June 2021 we will have a good idea of whether we can welcome unlimited numbers of handlers, or if restrictions will still govern our event.
If prevailing government guidelines dictate that we must restrict entries, we will cap entries for the Novice test at 14, and the Open test at 10. Our hope is that we will be able to welcome all handlers who choose to enter the tests, but we will endeavour to keep competitors up-to-date when new government guidance is released.
In the meantime, we hope that you will support our Spaniel event and we look forward to seeing you and your dogs in a beautiful part of Lincolnshire, for what we know will be a super day.
