Trial Results: Open A/V Retriever at Neville Holt, Leicestershire
East Midland Gundog Club held their two day Open Retriever Trial at Neville Holt over the 25th & 26th October. Huge thanks to the keeper Jim Chattaway, and also to Georgina Chattaway for keeping us fed and watered. Our thanks to Paul Ford and his team of guns, and a special thanks to our helpers, Tish, Simi, Ben, Gordon, Ruth and Carol.
Our judges were John Stubbs, Alan Buckland, Colin Pelham and Sue Lowe. Once again we were supported by our long-term sponsors, Skinner's. The club would like to thank them for their continued generosity.
Our results were as follows:
1st John Cardno with Etomanni Comanche
2nd Russel Hogdon with Lecaz Octavia
3rd Jason Mayhew with Berryshot Widgeon
4th Mike Jones with Ffynongain Buzzard of Wauniago
COM to Niels Henrik Hansen with Labdom Nuthatch
Along with the Styleside Trophy, John was presented with The Dave
Probert Memorial Trophy by Carol Probert, and the Ged Leeson Trophy, which
was awarded to the dog which showed the most natural game finding
ability. It turned out to be quite an emotional presentation.
John's dog Etomanni Comanche
was made up to FTCH (subject to the approval of The Kennel Club). John said, "I would like to thank Helen Swan, the club, and all the helpers for their hard work and effort, the land owner and keepers, the judges, and fellow
competitors for a fantastic two days that I will cherish for the rest of my
days. Hats off to you all."
The club would like to wish John the best of luck at the championships.
